As per licensing, the following program/age guidelines are required for enrolment:
To be eligible for the September 2012 3 year old program, your child must turn 3 years of age by December 31st, 2012.
To be eligible for the September 2012 4 year old program, your child must turn 4 years of age by December 31st, 2012.
Thus, if you wish to enroll in a 3 year old program (which begins in September) your child must turn 3 by the end of the upcoming December. This is the same for the 4 year old program, and children turning 4 years of age.
To be eligible for the January 2012 30-month program, your child must turn 3 years old by June 30th, 2012. If you wish to attend in January 2013, your child must turn 3 years old by June 30th, 2013.
In order to enroll your child at Little Ark, there is a detailed process that must be completed. Please read the Enrolment Process that is outlined below.
Due to the combination of an overwhelming demand for childcare and the lack of available space in the community, many preschools have a lengthily ‘wait list’. Because these wait lists have grown longer over the years, Little Ark’s enrolment process has grown as well in order to accommodate the amount of interest we receive. We recommend submitting your information sooner than later, as it can take up to 1.5 years to complete the enrolment process, due to the high volume of families in our queue. (Yes, even if your child is still in utero, we would recommend beginning the process now!)
The enrolment process for Little Ark can be broken down in to a four main steps,
as follows:
- Online Submission Form
Your child’s information must be submitted to the preschool via our website. This information is then sent to our database, which will automatically send you an email confirming your submission. For this reason, please ensure that your email address is entered correctly in to the online form. - Invitation to an Open House
Once a year, Little Ark Preschool hosts an Open House in the spring time. If you have completed step one of the enrolment process your family will be invited to attend the next possible Open House. You will receive this invitation via email approximately one month prior to the Open House date. - Attendance at an Open House
When you attend Little Ark Preschool’s Open House you will be required to confirm your child’s information and your interest in enrolling at the school. Most importantly, your attendance at this event places you within our prioritized queue (wait list). - Registration
Registration for the September 3 and 4 year old programs is completed in the spring, prior to the commencement of the programs, where as registration for the 30-month program is completed in the fall, prior to the January start date. Only families who are eligible will be contacted in regards to registration. Eligibility is determined by age (as per licensing) and by priority within the queue. Thus, out of all the 3 year olds who are waiting for a spot in the 3’s program, the families who attended the oldest Open House would have priority over families who attended one more recently. After contacting those who are eligible for registration, if the number of interested families exceeds the number of available spaces for enrolment, a first-come-first-served line up date/time would be set.

**Please note that Little Ark Preschool’s enrolment process will employ a lottery style system for registration if the number of interested parties exceeds the number of available spots. We do not have a catchment area that is based on your proximity to the school. Enrolment is based solely upon the completion of the aforementioned steps.
