Special Events

Seasonal celebrations and traditions such as Halloween, Christmas, Valentines Day and Easter are special events at the preschool. We may ask parents to sign up to bring special snacks and join us for some of the parties. Preschool hours may be changed on some of these occasions to accommodate set up time. We will notify you well in advance of any changes.

Birthdays

A birthday is an exciting time for a child. Children's birthdays will be acknowledged through a special activity. Parents are welcome to participate, and/or to provide a special snack if desired.

Field Trips

Field trips are planned during the school year when they contribute to our themes and goals. Three year olds are given the opportunity to expand their knowledge and sense of community with impromptu trips within the neighbourhood (i.e. the local bakery, fire hall, or park). Four year olds are ready to venture a little further, with an annual trip to the pumpkin patch, and additional field trips which build upon classroom curriculum. Advance notice is given for each event and parents are asked to accompany us to provide extra supervision. We will rent a bus or use parent drivers, depending on the distance.
